본연구는인도의관념체계를통해서도시와주거의공간구조를읽고자한것이다. 이와같이환경을지배하고있는상위체계와그물리적구현간의밀접한관계를읽어냄으로써한도시와주거가가지는독자적공간개념과존재방식을파악할수있을것으로기대한다. 인도의관념체계를통해서도시및주거의공간구성을살펴본결과, 계획도시자이푸르와자연발생적도시아메다바드는그형태적차이에도불구하고다음과같은공통적인공간적특성을가지고있었다. 첫째, 도시전체로부터주거에이르기까지모든공간은만다라의개념을반영하여중심이강조된공간구성,공간의축적구성그리고위계적공간구성을가진다. 둘째, 인도의사회적관념인힌두이즘에따라도시는작은근린주구가하나의세포를형성하고그것의집합이전체도시를이루는세포질도시구조를형성하고있으며, 각각의공간은강한폐쇄성을가진다. 셋째, 모든공간은바스투의원리에의해특정한위치와향을취하도록계획되었는데, 이때남쪽은가장피해야할방위로인식되었다. |

This is a study on the spatial structure of Indian cities and houses based on the Indiantraditional idealism. It is expected to provide better understanding on the spatial conceptunderlying the cities and houses, showing the intimate relationships between the Indianconceptual system and the physical environment. As a result of the examination of cities andhouse’s spatial structure using Indian conceptual systems, the common spatial structures oftwo cities were found as below, despite of morphological differences between the plannedcity of Jaipur and naturally developed city of Ahmedabad. Firstly, all spaces ranging from thedwelling and infill tissues to the city as a whole maintain centralized spatial formation, spaceaccumulation and axial-hierarchical organization, incorporating the concept of Mandala.Secondly, the city has cellular structures where the vicinities play the role of a single cell, arecombined to form the while city and each space is strongly closed. Thirdly, the locations anddirections of all spaces are carefully designed and oriented to meet the Vaastu principle,particularly avoiding the south orientation. |
