Measurements were conducted at six subway stations and one ground station of Line one of Seoul Metro. Six subway stations were classified whether the platform screen door(PSD) was installed or not. Equivalent continuous A-weighted sound pressure levels, L Aeq, were measured at three parts of platform take account of the passing conditions of train car such as ‘entering’, ‘stop’, and ‘starting’. Also, as a design for noise reduction, the effect of additional sound absorption on platform surfaces was analyzed using simulation tool. The results showed that L Aeq at seven platforms were in the range of 60.6~89.8 dB(A). The measured noise at platform was dominant at middle frequencies, 500-1000 Hz.
