In accordance with the recent Climatic Change Convention, the reduction goal of greenhouse gas emission for advanced countries is defined for a specific implementing measure on a reduction goal of greenhouse gas emission. This has led to the proposition of western-style wood frame house, recently causing interests traditional Korean-style house and practical implementation, even though it seems a little late. However, in spite of the public’s high preference and interests, it is not so easy to distribute traditional Korean-style house nationwide. It is because high construction cost and awareness of cold, uncomfortable traditional Korean-style house, and space not fitting in modern living among other things. Therefore, this will be resolved by constructing traditional Korean-style house in an inexpensive, high-performance manner while maintaining Korean-style house’s own identity and characteristics. This requires traditional Korean-style house to stick to its forms and methods, consistently transform itself through literalism and liberalism, and develop itself to create a new form of traditional Korean-style house. |
