Government projects of New Government at the times of ‘People’s happiness’ are arranged with the effects which national people can actually enjoy, and methods to achieve them are not concretely limited. Therefore, in order to vitalize Hanok and wood houses, clear strategies about those effects should be first established and logics should be developed which could conform to the government projects. Time when Hanok vitalization policy has started at nation-wide level coincides with the times of upsurge of Korean wave fevers and restoration of house shortage. To find the national or regional individuality from the uniform landscapes at global times continued to economic values which are called as ‘Branding’, expanded demand which is aiming for health and safety could meet an ethical problem which is ‘environment friendliness’. Hanok is a classy and healthy architectural type and it is revived at modern times in 21 century. Counter plans of national policies about Hanok was first to seek the foundations to create added values through the branding of traditional cultures. Korean traditional culture branding project which is named as ‘Korea style’ had an objective to have our traditional cultures to be a habituation, industrialization and globalization. In ‘comprehensive promotion plan of Korean Style’ which was announced in 2007 February, five subjects were assigned to Hanok. Subsequently in ‘New Hanok plan to improve national dignity’ which was decided by 3rd National Construction Policy Committee on 2010 May 3rd, plans were established in order that individual departments in central and local governments could combine the forces by sharing their individual roles. Hanok area looks to be emerging very successfully in policy promotion procedures. In order to succeed and develop these policies well, three following plans are necessary to consider. First, understanding and promotion policies of Hanok are required as a base of life. Policy objective which is called as habituation of Hanok should be amended to be a direction that ordinary lives of the residents are first considered as well as tourists. Second, discovery and promotion of cultural values of Hanok are important. Values of Hanok should be combined with humanistic storytelling and suggested as the type of modern life and should create synergy effects through the fusion with other traditional cultures. Third, various supports should be provided in order that the industrial structure could be prepared for Hanok to become a sustainable architectural type. Not only the improvements about legal systems should be provided, but also the certification of education, qualification and performances of Hanok materials and construction should be prepared. |
