요약2 In the daily living environment, children grow up as future members of society by building their experience, learning the regulations, and improving the ability to control the outgoing, while having an emotional relationship with friends, parents, grandparents, and other adults. In other words, daily living environment is very important space for children which living and learning would take place at the same time. Children are experiencing the characteristics of natural, physical, and social environment in the community while they are playing naturally in the living environment. On the basis of these experiences, positive development would be guided. Therefore, living environment should be planned in order to be remembered as a meaningful place with a variety of activities, and stories. On the other hand, universal design is a concept to create a social environment including society, culture, welfare, and education and a physical environment of architecture, environment, and space with the mind of understanding and respecting various people's personality and condition. Universal design is a concept to make city and living environment that a variety of people could use conveniently and live comfortably regardless of age, sex, disorder and nationality. Therefore, children who are the future of our society should be grown safely and healthfully. The formation of living environment should be accomplished. From the viewpoint of the Universal Design, it is necessary to analyze the current living conditions and explore future directions to create an environment that respects children's developmental characteristics and needs in order to make children physically and emotionally safe and healthy to grow The following points should be considered in order to make the living environment from the viewpoint of the Universal Design for the healthy body and mind. 1) The environment suitable for rapidly growing demand and subsequent changes in the child's environment should be created. To make children grow up healthily, the community should provide play, education, and medical treatment appropriate to developmental characteristics, and emotional and psychological health as well as physical health should be taken care of. 2) Safety should be secured for the environment which is suitable for the health of children. Children could learn to avoid big accidents when they hurt slightly. They form abundant personalities through many opportunities of various playing, learning. Therefore, environment for children would be planned in order to play safely from the viewpoint of children rather than serious consideration of excessive safety. 3) Children must be raised in relation with various ages and people for the social development. In daily life, they are building up knowledge and sense of fellowship with the family through joyful life in various contacts. Also, living environment must be formed in order to make development of sociality for children through the meetings of the community which could provide the relationship 4) Children's culture must be created and passed on. The environment for children should form architecture?urban culture that acknowledges children's culture and beauty. Intrinsic culture of children have been succeeded historically and proceeded with the various forms in regional culture in the world. Therefore, the environment for children should inherit and develop children culture. 5) Parents and families to raise children in a healthy environment is to be built. Demand of family to protect and to live with children for the characteristics of children's development must be reflected from the viewpoint of growth and nurturing of children.
