공장은 산업혁명의 고도화과정을 통해 발전하였으며, 인력 및 인프라의 접근성이 용이한 도시를 중심으로 입지하여 성장해왔다. 그러나 시대적 배경 및 생산성이 떨어지는 거대한 공장은 도시에서 멀어지고 도시 내 필요한 산업시설은 보다 집약적인 아파트 형태의 수직형 공장으로 개발되었다. 초기 아파트형공장은 제조업 입주를 위해 화물 중심의 계획으로 건축되어 생산성을향상 및 도시 미관을 개선하는 효과를 거두었다. IMF 이후 정부의 산업고도화 정책에 따라 아파트형공장은 제조업 외 IT 및 정보산업 기업이 입주 가능하게 되었으며 정부의 적극적 지원으로 활발한 개발이 이루어지게 되었다. 2010년에 이르러 지식산업 위주의 산업정책에 따라 비로소 제도적으로 지식산업센터로 명칭변경 되며 도심 내 지식산업을 대표하는 건축물로 진화하였다. 민간시행을 통해 대형화, 고급화를 이룩하게 되었으며 현재 신성장동력산업 정책 아래 다양한 지식산업기업이 입주하고 있으며 시너지 효과가 있는 타 용도의 시설과 융복합되어 진화하고 있다. 또한 차세대 산업 육성을 위한 공공 지식산업센터가 개발되는 등 그 역할을 다양화하고 있다. 지식산업센터까지 동시대의 산업정책에 맞추어 시기별로 역할이 변화되고 있으며 도시산업 패러다임에 맞추어 기능을 지속적으로 성장하고 있다. |

The factory has been developed through the process of upgrading the industrial revolution, and has been growing mainly in cities with easy access to human resources & infrastructure. However, the factories with low productivity are far away from the city, and the necessary industrial facilities in the city have been developed as vertical factories in the form of intensive apartments. Initial apartment factories were built with cargo-oriented plans to move for manufacturing industry, improving productivity & urban aesthetics. After IMF, in accordance with the industrial policy, apartment-type factories were allowed to move into IT and information industry other than the manufacturing industry. In 2010, it was renamed to the Knowledge Industry Center according to the industrial policy focused on the knowledge industry, and evolved into a building representing the knowledge industry. Through the private developmnt, it has achieved large-scale and high-class, and under the policy of new growth engine industry, various knowledge industry companies are occupied. It is diversifying its role, such as the development of a public knowledge industry center to next-generation industries. The role of the knowledge industry center has been changed from time to time in line with contemporary industrial policies, and the function is continuously growing in line with the urban industry paradigm. |
