The purpose of this research is to present the method to activate the guarantee and application of public open space by investigating and analyzing architect's awareness toward in-site public and public open space. The research were performed by two way at the same time ; examination of records on public open space and in-site public space, and survey on architectural professionals. The results of this survey are as follows; First, architects realized that poor urban environment needed to be improved and the necessity of public space in city and the importance of open space. Second, despite architects put high values on public society, the ultimate motive on creation and utilization of public open space, there are many hindrances in the actual stage, such as request of clients, owners of buildings, laws, economy, and etc. Third, on the topic of rewarding method on public open space, most answered 'relaxation on building regulations is the effective rewarding method'. Therefore, it contradicts the previously researched result which relaxation on building regulations does not attract owners of buildings, therefore needs financial support. Fourth, as well as the embodiment on public society, the investigation of awareness on the importance of the 4 items, established to evaluate the function of public open space, showed 'distinction', 'accessibility‘, ’convenience' and 'aesthetics' in order from high to low. Fifth, in the topic of improvement method on creating of public open space, the present developing method which were individually performed, should be abandoned. However the connection with surrounding public space and the effective rewarding method, not made by forced regulations but by the active participation of owners of buildings, is needed. |
