이 연구에서는 북한의 현재 도시체계를 계층적 측면, 연계적 측면, 발전적 측면으로 나누어 종합적으로 분석하며, 특히 도시체계의 성장?발전 측면에 초점을 맞추어 북한의 대외개방 정책에 따른 외향적 도시체계를 분석하는데 초점을 두었다. 대외교류와 해외투자가 활발한 지역은 지역성장의 거점으로서 도시체계발달에 핵심이 될 것으로 보인다. 따라서 이러한 외향적 도시체계를 분석함으로서 북한지역의 도시체계의 흐름을 이해하고 북한의 지역개발 뿐아니라 남한과 연계하여 국토계획에 참고 할 수 있을 것이다. |

The purpose of this study is to prospect the urban system under condition of open-door policy in North Korea. this study analyzed three aspects of Chinese urban development : population growth, economic growth under open-door policy, and the formation of mutual reliance and competition among cities. Some urban geographical methodologies including urban rank-size rule, city size distribution analysis, urban primacy, and index of concentration method are applied in this study Major results of this study are summariezed as follows.
First, the urban system in in North Korea has shown development in a central role Pyongyang city and secondary growing cities are Nampo, Kaesong and Hamhung. They have been the increase of urban population in spite of a paralysis of total urbanization. Second, Global investment in NK has concentrated on Najin-Sunbong and Pyongyang-Nampo, they have a global network and incentive to investment. The feature of spatial structure has strengthened and partly transformed because the external development of city is great and concentrated in some cities. so It is important that The developmental process of urban system in NK has global network- international rail system and seaport. Moreover also important that policy of government of NK. |
