Large-scale discount stores have a great impact on spatial structure and consumer behavior. On spatial structure, many consumer's movements have made noise and traffic jam, etc., around their neighboring area as well as large-scale discount stores. Above all, the land use of neighboring area circumscribing them can be mostly influenced by large scale discount stores. In consumer behavior, the consumer who have usually shopped at traditional market have transferred to large-scale discount stores. Locational characteristics of large-scale discount stores in Busan are at large divided into two; First, the location of large-scale discount stores are apt to go abreast with city's spacial axis. Recently, large-scale discount stores are mostly located at Seomyeon, new central business district in Busan. Also, large-scale discount stores have rapidly increased on the newly emerging residential area(Saha Gu, Book-Gu, Haeundae-Gu). In analysis of consumer preferences employing conjoint analysis, the variables to denote accessibility of residence, convenience of traffic, easiness of parking are highly likely to associate with preferring large-scale discount stores. And it is revealed that the variable(here, crowding) to represent consumer's cognition is also important factor. However, the variables to denote physical attributes of large-scale discount stores have relatively weak correlations with consumer's preferring to large-scale discount stores. |
