The aim of this study is to present a Collaborative Urban Planning Model and a Web-based Planning Support System. Visual-Communication, such as hyper-media, GIS, Virtual Reality etc, is introduced through the heuristic research process to build a system, which enables interactive communication among end-users. The system is designed to operate the planning process on the Internet. The system consists of four modules. First one is ‘representation and searching module’ for the effective providing information via visualized way. Second one is ‘spatial manipulation module’, which permits users to handle and modify spatial information and opinion submission. In this step some development alternatives are provided for the further discussion. Third, ‘conversation module’, is for the evaluation about whole process of our system, from data aquisition and representation to final decision making even to the system improvement. Through the test run we could identify our system to be applicable to real planning world and promote the planning democracy evidently. |
