한국 고 건축은 목구조를 중심으로 발달해왔으며 부재와 부재의 연결이 짜 맞추어지는 가구식(架構式) 구조로 되어 있다. 이러한 구조적 전통은 한국 고건축에 사용되어져 온 포작의 복잡 화려함과 신비로운 매력 그리고 처마곡선이 주는 시각적 아름다움에 가려져 학계의 별다른 관심을 끌지 못했던 것도 사실이다. 그리고 가구구조의 기본이 되고 있는 맞춤과 이음에 대한 관심 역시 현실적으로 쓰기 어려운 사라진 목조 디테일 정도로 취급되고 있으며 이것이 포작보다 더 원천적인 전통목조 구법의 기본이라는 사실이 외면되고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 현재 널리 사용되고 있는 구조 시스템과 비교해 볼 때 한국고건축의 가구구조는 두 가지 측면에서 매우 두드러진 건축적 특징을 지니고 있음을 발견하게 된다. 우선 전통목조건축과 현재 세계화 되고 있는 경골 목조 건축을 비교해 보면 경골목조건축은 오랜 전통을 지닌 내력벽 구조기법에 따른 벽식 구조체계를 지니고 있는데 반하여 전통목구조는 기둥과 보 중심의 중 목조(重木造) 건축 기술체계를 갖고 있는 점이다. 두 번째 기둥과 보 접합방식을 지닌 서구의 중 목구조와 비교해보면 전통목조는 접합부에 맞춤과 이음을 이용한 절점을 구성함으로서 목재의 물성을 그대로 반영하고 있는데 반하여 서구의 그것은 철물을 사용하여 강절점화 시킴으로서 접합부 가정에 커다란 차이가 나타난다. 이와 같은 접합부 구성상의 차이를 전제하고 볼 때 한국의 고 건축은 서구의 그것과 차별되는 구조적 思考가 내재해 있을 가능성이 높다고 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구는 전통목조의 기본이 되고 있는 맞춤과 이음의 공학적 가치를 밝히기 위하여 역사적 맥락을 지니고 있는 장부이음의 과학적 타당성을 역학적 성능 실험을 통하여 규명함으로서 전통목조건축의 구조해석에 필요한 기초 자료로 삼고자 하며 동시에 전통 구법체계가 지닌 공학적 차별성과 현대적 활용성을 생각해 보고자 한다. |

Unfortunately a method of westernized light, heavy timber construction system, being popular, are applied widely to the construction of a wooden building at present in Korea. Because the more increase of introducing of foreign techniques and importing the related materials reduces the consumption of domestic materials, are confused identity on architectural thought corresponding traditional wood structural system. Thus, in this study a prefab wood structural system is developed having the competitiveness in culture and inheriting the structural characteristics of Korean architecture.??The contents and extents of this study are outlined as the practical design of traditional wood structure using its joint system, the development and manufacture of parts, and the experimental tests on joint system such as beam, column, and tenon connections. The elements for realizing the traditional wood structure can be found by analyzing the methods of construction and the structural characteristics of wood structures in Korea dynasty era. The specimens proposed in a draft were made of material woods and glulams. Tests are carried out to confirm the structural capacities and characteristics of traditional wood structures. The full size joint specimens were assembled and it reflected the effect of variables in design such as the optimum dovetail size, the method of connecting between beam and column, and the method between beams. The result of structural test,??the dovetail used in the traditional wood structure has been confirmed to have a ability of resisting the lateral forces. But it is needed to be careful in keeping the accuracy in construction and minimizing the deformation due to the change in moisture content. |
