Oriental and occidental world have their own customs and thoughts. For the very reason, We have had some questions which are difficult to explain with the rational way of thinking of the West. To find out the answer, we analyzed 3 basic principles(背山臨水, 前低後高, 前窄後寬) of yangtaeg, which could be used in selecting residential real estate, and sasinsa(四神沙), ansan(案山), jijagi(地磁氣) and wind(風) by adopting some modern scientific theories. We used these 7 factors as the research tools of the earth and building. Then, we tried to look for some examples in which the tools are applicable and presented what we found in view of the feng-shui. For the empirical research, we conducted a survey on selection of residential real estate two groups, ordinary Seoul citizens and feng-shui men, and examined statistical difference. The result said that question 12, 14, 16, 17 are not significant. It means that the ordinary citizens and feng-shui men have the same tendency in their selection of residential real estate. Based on our research, we hope the feng-shui theory will be welcomed in the field of urban planning, selecting land for public offices, residential and commercial blocks to secure the "well-being," in other words, environment-friendly living space of the 21st century. |
