Apartment buildings in general residential area in Seoul will be rebuilt as high-rise buildings which are currently allowed by height control system. It sometimes has made our residential landscape to be monotonous in height and disharmony with surrounding low-rise detached housings. To solve this problem of urban residential landscape, Seoul Metropolitan Government introduced the Average - height Control System on the apartment buildings in general residential area. The purpose of this study is to analyze the permission of height range and the citizens' responses of this height range permission through computer simulations and questionnaires survey method, and to suggest the implementation directions of this height control system. In result, it's a good impact of urban landscape to Average-height Control System in 60% or 90% Permission Height Range. but 130% Permission Height Range make an negative impact on urban landscape. Being the application of Average-height Control System, it's restricted to height's limit on Apartment Buildings |
