본 연구는 고령친화 미래실험주택 환경을 구성하고 있는 제품들의 유니버설디자인 특성을 분석하고 그 경향을 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 각 제품들의 유니버설디자인 요소가 노인의 삶을 어떻게 지원할 수 있는지를 살핌으로서, 유니버설디자인의 중요성과 패러다임을 이해하고 유니버설디자인 지침 개발에 있어 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 또한 문화적으로 다른 우리 주거환경권에서 각 제품들을 주택 내에서 어떻게 적용할 수 있는지 모색해보는 기회가 될 수 있다는데 의의가 있다. |

As the number of elderly aged 65 and older is expected to double in 20 years in Korea, the aging-in-place phenomenon will be more dominant force during this century. That means the demand for seniors-appropriate new homes, renovations, and assistive devices will be increasing. However, it is hardly difficult to find housing models and products which support sustainable living of the elderly in Korea, due to the short period of time to prepare for the aging society. This study aims to explore the world's leading examples and to identify the features of environmental affordance in accordance with the 5 universal design principals which were developed in the precedent research. The examples were limited to the special products for elderly in 4 distinguished experimental aging-friendly houses. As the results, the features of the products satisfied the universal design principles such as 'supportiveness', 'adaptability', 'communicability', 'pleasantness'. and 'accessibility'. This idea will be the basis to develop aging-friendly products and houses. |
