A window has been used in building due to good performance in terms of view, daylight, and ventilation. However, the U-value in terms of performance is usually poor. It causes some problems such as condensation, thermal discomfort, etc. The purpose of this study is construct the database to resist and evaluate condensation. First of all, a surface temperature was measured by simulation programs which are Window 5 and Therm 5.2. With the temperature data, ratio of temperature decrease was calculated, and the ratio was applied to algorithm for condensation resistance analysis. The database can be used to predict how much condensation is going to be made, so before a window is fabricated in building we can evaluate if the window can be applied, or we can enforce the window with any kind of material. The standard that how much condensation can be accepted has to be made for the further study. |
