The linearization assumed that temperature variation within the rotor is linear along the length, temperature-humidity ratio relation is linear in a proper range in a psychrometric chart, and relative humidity-sorption capacity relation of the desiccant is linear. Four assumptions causes the non-linear governing equations to be linear and theoretical study on the complicated design parameters of a cooling system with desiccant rotor guides the optimum operation condition. Optimum rotating speed is determined from four dimensionless parameters, average gradient of relative humidity lines in psychrometric chart, sorption capacity of the rotor, and number of transfer unit.
