This study is to time-series analyze the spatial pattern of family restaurants, the character of the rear areas and floating population in foreign food-service industry. The most important socio-economic factors in the industry are income in the rear area and the quantity and quality of customers because the food-service industry is a location-oriented industry. As the public transportation in the metropolitan area takes charge 62% of the floating population, it is the factor which should be considered preferentially for the location of the food-service industry. This study intends to research the change between the two factors.The consequence of the analysis on the spatial pattern of family restaurants, TGI Fridays, Outback Steakhouse, and VIPs is that they locate near subway stations. In addition, the established trend of family restaurants in the early period makes in the central commercial districts, and it has spreaded to the rear areas of residential districts since 2000. |
