Recently, In Korea, high-rise residential buildings have many environmental problems such as re-circulation of exhausting flow in kitchen, stack effect by pressure differences of each floor, and low air change rate. Since kitchen is the main place that pollutes a residential unit, pollutants spread from the kitchen have to be considered in the design stage. During cooking and meal-time, odors from food spread out rapidly. As a result, residents can perceive odors easily and be unpleasant. In the first stage of the study, odor-spreading phenomenon has been measured by tracer gas method. CFD simulation has been performed with the same condition. To prevent odors from spreading out, new ventilation systems are developed to solve odor problems. 2 types of ventilation system and a high-powered exhaust system are produced and using these ventilation system, odor problem could be reduced greatly. |
