In association with the climate changes, a global concerns on measures to improve the environment friendly features such as building energy use and CO2 emission has been increasingly growing. Since the Convention of Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 1992, a worldwide campaign to regulate the generation of environment pollutants has been staged. In line with such a global trend, the government has been seeking an environment-friendly and sustainable development, while the concerned ministries have been mapping out the specific implementation plans. The environment certificate system in Korea however has still been at the infant stage, and to upgrade the domestic system to the advanced level, it's necessary to identify the current status. The study, hence, was intended to evaluate the domestic operation procedures of the environment certificate system, certificate criteria and the status in detail. |
