This paper presents the effect of the hybrid fiber such as PP fiber(PP) and cellulose fiber(CL), PP fiber and PVA fiber(PVA), and PP fiber and Nylon fiber(NY) as well as different length of fiber on spalling resistance of high strength concrete. For the effect of fiber length variation on fluidity, the shorter the length of PP fiber is, the smaller the fluidity loss. For the effect of hybrid fiber on fluidity, the use of PVA+PP and NY+PP led to a reduction of fluidity loss significantly. Control concrete without fiber exhibited sever explosive spalling as expected. For the effect of fiber length on spalling, the individual use of PP fiber with length of 19mm, and the use of PP fiber with 6mm and 19mm at the same time protected from spalling occurrence at the amount of PP fiber with 0.1%. For the effect of hybrid fiber on spalling, The combination of NY+PP had favorable spalling resistance at the amount of 0.05%. Residual strength after fire test had close link with spalling occurrence, which means that the concrete without spalling has high residual strength and small weight loss ratio. |
