Especially this study focuses on differential changes in a transit modal choice among socioeconomic status, trip purpose and spatial characteristics of origin & destination. We compare the ratios of public transit mode between two periods in terms of the income level and trip purpose. Further we analyze differential change of the ratio, focusing on the land usel characteristics(mixed and density) of origin & destination area. The probability of public transit use against automobile is modeled as a function of socioeconomic variables and spatial characteristics of origin and destination. The results suggest that people with lower income and have lower level of jobs show the larger changes in the ratio of public transit choice. Also more accessible to public transit and higher density , more diverse land uses in destinations of travel generally increase the ratio of public transit choice between 2002 and 2006.
