The worldwide anxiety of this has resulted in the Kyoto Protocol in the third COP (Conference of Parties) of UNFCCC(United Nation's Framework Convention of Climate Change) as the measures of Global Warming. As of 2013, Korea will be expected to belong to the nations that are mandatory for reducing emission of carbon dioxide. This paper gives a consider of recent status of urban development based on the cases of 'Zero-Carbon Cites' and proposes the desirable urban development direction. The aim and scope of this study are included in introduction, and the movement of the world to reduce gases of green house and cases of 'Zero-Carbon City' such as 'Masdar', 'BedZED' and 'Dockside Green Project' are followed. In conclustion, the desirable urban development direction is described and the trend of 'Zero-Carbon City' is as follows.
