In the contemporary architecture, non-linear forms architecture that utilizes digital media possesses the potential of extracting creative architectural designs, but it poses a substantial level of technical difficulty ranging from initial design to actual construction due to its configurational characteristics. The objective of this study is to explore the possibility of solving the difficulties involved with the non-linear forms architectural construction through incorporating BIM(Building Information Modeling), which utilizes engineering modeler based on NURBS(non-uniform rational B-spline) over the entire life of non-linear forms architectural construction project, and also possibility from the system aspect in the construction processes. The conclusions obtained in this study are as following. Firstly, expression and modeling with a wide range of freedom would become feasible in non-linear forms architectural forms. Secondly, in construction business processes, 3D-Based and Object-Oriented trends would be newly established. Thirdly, standardization and collaborative network would become possible. Fourthly, exchange and sharing of data would be proposed as an integration project delivery. |
