Previously, we developed welded built-up square steel tube providing a great deal of load capacity buckling. Beam to column pin connections with inner RC core and exterior welded built-up CFT column is one of the structural system that support lateral load. In case of pin connections using welded built-up CFT column, we decided to use T-section as shear tap. If this pin connections is used, due to width to thickness ratio and displacement of T-section, the eccentric distance between the column flange surface and the beam flange end degrades the strength by the local moment on the column flange surface. This study performed a theory analysis on the CFT column to beam pinned connection to determine the strength degradation of the delded built-up square CFT column. The column’s width, thickness and a strength of steel and concrete were used as variables for the analysis.
