During his second travel of Europe, Kahn had experienced the pervasive quality of the ruins, which can be defined as a qualitative experience. This pervasive quality of the ruins were thought over introspectively and integrated as works of architecture. This is due to the introspective experience. The architectural integrations reveals Kahn's recreated quality of the ruins and this can be categorized into three types. These categories are 'the substituted wall', 'the hollowed column' and 'the overlapping of the hollowed column'.
