Providing thermal comfort is a main goal of heating, ventilating and air conditioning(HVAC), and affects productivity of occupants in office building. However, temperature control can not provide the thermal comfort at all the time. This is because thermal comfort is influenced by many environmental variables such as temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, radiation temperature, activity level and clothing insulation. In this study, Fanger's predicted mean vote(PMV) index is used as controlling feedback. And, Thermal comfort is evaluated both PMV controlled space and temperature controlled space by simulation. In the simulation, several cases were compared, in which set-point temperatures of 24℃ and 26℃ and, set-point PMV index of +0.5 through the one day of summer season, respectively. The results show that PMV controlled space is more likely to maintain comfort state and save energy than temperature controlled space. |
