This study surveyed the residents' evaluation on the bathroom space being recently specialized among apartments with brand. Given that the survey through questionnaire focused on a number of objects is hard to collect the differentiated opinions due to its statistic characteristic, this Study chose a research method to re-classify key words through the qualitative analysis on free opinions on general items regarding the bathroom. The contents of analysis on opinions were divided into general factor and environmental one and were arranged to inconvenient items and proposed ones after analyzing on them in detail again. This Study surveyed the residents in the apartments with the best 5 brands constructed after 2000 and they were requested to present freely the opinions about the bathroom. The survey was conducted through questionnaires by internet and the totally collected 116 subjective questionnaires were analyzed with being divided into inconvenient items and proposed ones. Comparing both of the inconvenient items and the proposed ones on the general factors of the bathroom, even though there were lots of inconvenient items on the bathroom area, the survey showed characteristic that there was no concretely proposed item. The survey showed the inconvenient items regarding breadth, height and hygiene condition in all of toilet stool, basin, bathtub and shower booth, and, as for the proposed items, there were more proposals regarding the advanced system such as whirlpool bathtub, water pressure massager and beauty system rather than the improvements regarding installation. Comparing the inconvenient items and the proposed ones on the bathroom environment, while there were lots of inconvenient items on the physical environment within the bathroom, as for the proposed items, there were more opinions regarding psychological environment for bathroom atmosphere and relaxation. Accordingly, it is thought that the residents have the burden on the construction in solving directly the physical environment and want to move towards convenient and high-class atmosphere using the words, such as comfort, neat, practical and restful, regarding the proposed items. As mentioned above, the factors related to the inconvenient and the proposed items felt by the residents were shown much differently each other. The residents showed lost of physically inconvenient items on height and breadth of the bathroom and, at the same time, did the burden to the existing bathroom remodeling which have already been planned. Yet, it is shown that they had a strong desire for the ideal bathroom image and have prepared to choose it. So it is expected that, if the spatial design of bathroom would be positively considered in the side of suppler on the basement of this analysis on the resident-oriented bathroom space and life, which has been studied so far, it can satisfy both the residents and the suppliers. |
