Recently, the rate of approaching to the aging society is being rapid in Korea. The settlement and development of housing welfare is impeded by such an increase in population of the aged, an increase in the number of the elderly family, and an increase in medical expenses for the aged. This study aims at reporting the result of dwelling remodeling for the aged who are benefited from the basic livelihood security system in that improving both physical and mental health of the aged through advancing the residential structure is the start point of housing welfare. We investigated the present condition of ADL (Activities of Daily Living), minimum housing standard, the number of places asking for dwelling remodeling, and BF (Barrier Free) through a survey from people in 24 dwellings. Aside from it, we visited residences of the people again, found some places incurring physical and mental disorders, and remodeled them. The result from the study is as follows. First, according to the analysis of frequency, people living alone in eldery and the disabled prefers the factor are improving step level difference, flush toilet, installation of boiler, shower facility, installation of grip bar. And correspondence analysis with 8 items of working ability and remodeling hope shows that reforming the shower facility is remarkably needed to the aged who are leaning upon his(or her) stick or who need others' arms to move, and elimination of level difference and installation of grip bar also shows highly necessary corresponding relationship. We conclude that setting aside securing the housing right for the alienation group such as people living alone in the eldery and the disabled, the political consideration such as supporting the factor showing daily amenity among minimal housing standards that prescribe the minimal housing right should be preferentially achieved from the study. |
