Seoul Newtown project is a top-down plan of a comprehensive Urban Renaissance Projects that overcomes the limits of urban renewal projects and makes sufficient urban infrastructures. Still there are some problems existed in Newtown project, This research analyze with civil petitions of Eunpyeong Newtown to investigate the opinion of residents about the project and the improvement of the project. Civil petitions are mostly about changing plans, compensation, housing and commercial supplement and they focused on raising the monetary compensation. Residents also require that the more information should open to public and citizens should be involved in the planning process. monetary compensation depends on the extra charge of new accommodation. By analyzing the civil petitions, this paper propose some measures such as civil participation from the beginning of t he p laning, partnership b etween s take h olders o f New town p rojects, consulting, and temporary dwelling measures of original residents during the projects. |
