This paper purports to observe what kind of forms has been changed until the final blueprint was derived, based on the sketch performed when Louis I. Kahn was designing Kimbell Art Museum and provide concrete and actual understanding of his architectural thought contained in the sketch. His sketch shows typical approach toward design problem. He solved problems occurred during the design process and client's requirements through the sketch. To solve the problems arisen during the design process, he presented a unique methodology while sketching, and the keyword he derived was not an abstract concept proposed according to recognition but a clear target to solve the actual problems occurred during the design process.
