To this end, equivalent plate element models corresponding to 3D models with solid elements were developed for example biaxial hollow slabs. Then, effective beam width method was introduced for the push-over analysis. To evaluate the performance under earthquake loads, push-over analysis of a 5-story flat-slab example structure was performed using the effective beam width model derived from the equivalent plate model. Comparing the results of analyses of the hollow and solid slab structures, seismic performance of the hollow slab structure turned out to be improved from that of solid slab structure. And the results of analysis were compared with those of solid flat-plate structure.
