In this paper, the magnitudes of horizontal acceleration were compared by applying the experimental results of tall building vibration models to the trend line of allowable acceleration for horizontal vibration obtained from the preceding study. Vibration responses of tall buildings differ according to the geometrical shape, structural characteristics, turbulent characteristics of wind, etc because they are flexible and slender. In the study, the square and circular sections were selected as basic plane shapes of experimental models, and the setback were tried for the circular section, for which the least displacement occurred. Also, the circular and setback model with ribs were tried. The magnitudes of a total of five types were compared. Presently, human comfort criteria are not prepared in Korea and structural engineers in practice employ international standards. However, it is not desirable generally to employ international standards. The results of this study is considered to be employed as a basic material to prepare human comfort criteria for building occupants in Korea by estimating horizontal vibration of buildings. |
