With the trend in the construction using high-strength material and the increase in material production costs, the interest in the efficient use of material has intensified and the studies on composite construction have been conducted. CFT, the composite of steel and concrete, has received more and more attention in Korea and overseas and the studies including its practical use in construction field have been carried out. Double-Skin CFT structure reduces column weight depending on hollow ratio, features high flexural rigidity and energy absorption and excels in fire proofing. However, the studies on Double-Skin CFT have been dominated by foreign researchers. In this study to secure the technology for Double-Skin CFT structure, tests were conducted with the variables of width-thickness ratio, hollow ratio and sectional shape to identify the structural performance of double-skin CFT slender columns and to provide directions for further studies. |
