It carried out contents analysis on 10 comprehensive city plans to understand how the land use surveys and analyses were carried out in the plans. And it developed a land use database for a case study area from land attribute survey data made for official valuation of land price. Then it carried out a land use analysis on the area to find how to improve the land use survey and analysis. It discloses that most of the comprehensive city plans were prepared without proper understanding of current land use. It also reveals that the land use database from land attribute survey data has constraints as well as opportunities for land use analysis. It concludes that we need a land use database specialized for city planning to improve the way of land use analysis.
