Energy reduction in building sector is important to reduce carbon emission against global worming. To improve energy performance of a new building, it is essential to assess energy performance at early design stage (i.e. conceptual design). In practice, however, it is not a trivial job for designers and even engineers to evaluate energy performance of buildings using dynamic energy simulation programs expecting high accuracy of results. To address this, a real-time collaborative system of designers and engineers is required. The purpose of this study is to develop BIM based energy simulation tool(SEP) to improve the productivity of building design process with which designers and engineers work efficiently.
