Towards the aforementioned end, in this study, the level of the people’s awareness of the current habitation and residential state of the families in Gangwondo with aged members was determined through a survey. Moreover, a general analysis of the residential state of such families was carried out based on the data taken from interviews that were conducted with them. The implications of such analysis data were drawn, and based on such implications, the following policy directions are hereby suggested: 1)A connection between housing administration and welfare administration is very essential. 2)The recognition of the need for housing reform for the aged should be expanded. 3)The housing policy should be formulated in such a way that families with aged members would be able to obtain residential accessibility. 4)Most importantly, support for a family with only one aged member must be promoted to address the lowest living condition of such aged person. 5)It is also essential to support families with aged members as they are likely to be given the least attention in the house leasing/rental markets, except when they have their own houses. 6)It is necessary to find diversified accessing methods according to the characteristics of each family with aged members. |
