Square is a metropolitan (urban) open space that has functioned as a herb of the events such as politics, religion, commerce and transportation, and the change of square has directly or indirectly affected the buildings around the square in times. Ranging from the medieval to the modern era, it is general that the nation's major buildings (palace, government buildings, etc.) around the square have been erected. However, in modern, buildings around the square have been in a trend changing to cultural facilities, so in this context, museums are being positioned as representative cultural facilities. Therefore, in this paper, the purpose is to study creating a cultural belt around the square through the things to be considered, when analyzing an interrelationship between a square and surrounding buildings (museums) and designing buildings around the square in the contextual point of urban. Also, based on some examples of museum of architecture and urbanism, and through the social and cultural roles and the need, and the analysis of spatial composition, we suggest the method that the program of space and surrounding buildings of square can be mutually interactive by analyzing the considerations necessary for planning, and finally, planning the museum of architecture and urbanism. |
