The destruction of natural ground and indiscreet soil covering due to compact development is causing urban desertification in urban residential areas. With biotop area ratio being variously used and extended as a pre planning index, this study aims to analyze the elements of biotop area ratio that need to be supplemented in order to emerge as a realistic planning index for post evaluation measure and not act only as a examining tool in the planning stage.
