Seoul's subway accessibility indexes from 1995 to 2009 were calculated on the basis of the distance from each subway station with the spatial unit of 50m x 50m raster cell using GIS 9.3. The changes of Seoul's zoning from 1996 to 2008 were obtained from statistics yearbooks. The relation between the accessibility and the zoning in each area was estimated in terms of correlation and sensitivity. According to the result of the analysis, the sensitivity of the commercial area was represented as the highest and most of the area with the higher accessibility indexes increased in its area. The sensitivity of the residential area was intermediate. The sensitivities of the industrial and green area were indicated as the lowest. The change of the commercial area caused by the increase of the accessibility was immediate, while that of the residential area were changed with a time-lag of 3-4 years. This research could provide an important empirical result for the policy makers to anticipate the impact of a new subway line on the change of land uses near its stations.
