In this paper, the wind-resistant design wind speed is analyzed in the offshore area and the design wind speed is estimated for offshore structures in southwestern area. To estimate the basic wind speed for the site, frequency analysis with long term wind series and a typhoon simulation using historic typhoon data were applied. The results of both have a good agreement.
