Gyonam-dong Area was Bansong-bang in Joseon Dynasty, and it was an important administrative district. Gyeonggi-gamyeong(a local government office) stood in the western part of this site for over 400 years. The street system comprised of the stream and two main streets, thus, complicating the urban tissues. As many roads stretched vertically at the curved stream, thus, shortened the distance between stream and urban tissues.
