In this system, transfer slab design is very important because it should carry and resist high gravity load and lateral load from superstructure. If transfer slab is designed by reinforced concrete, it is usually required that considerably high depth and large reinforcement quantities. So, it is necessary to reduce the depth and reinforcements of transfer slab. Post-tensioning is an effective way to reduce the depth and reinforcement of transfer slab.
