Methylcellulose which is commonly used as a functional additive in cement mortars for finishing or adhesive of building industry could be divided with HPMC, HEMC, MC according to the substituted chemical type. Most important three functions of MC in the cement mortars are water retention, thickening and air entraining. In this study, the effects of substitution degree MC on the properties of the fresh tile cement mortars such as viscosity, air content, slip, open time, etc. were investigated. As a result, the viscosity, air content and the other properties of the fresh tile cement mortars are affected by the substitution degree(MeO%, HPO%, HEO%). Especially, the air content has a good relation with HPO% and HEO% of the MC. |
