In the wake of domestic housing supply rates having reached over 111%, energy saving through renovation of conventional housings as an alternative to new construction is to be considered here. Specifically, the present study is to look at cases of renovating existing houses and relevant support policy abroad to analyze the applicability to domestic housing renovation and to elicit improvement measures in light of the current situation that the saturated housing supply rates have led to decrease in demand for new housing construction.
