As modern society requires speed, food culture has brought forth fast food culture, thus blowing a bad influence upon the nutrition balance of the nation. Particularly, the issue that socially disadvantaged people in the community do not have or are provided with fresh and nourishing foods, has been discussed as social problem. On the other hand, anonymity in community has made this situation left in neglect. Recently, urban farming has been drawing lots of attention in consideration of ecological character of urban area and to improve the community health. In case of advanced countries that have experienced devastation of natural environment in urban area, urban farming has been extensively implemented. Gyeonggi-do Province in Korea has set up the Gyeonggi-do Urban Farming Network (2010.10) as a measure not only to participate in the national strategic task of green growth but also to vitalize the local economy, thus taking an initiative of urban farming. This research studies the effectiveness of community farming garden kitchen as an alternative to promote the comprehensive health of the community residents by making the artificial and physical structures of apartments more eco-friendly, and suggests a planning principle for this purpose. In addition, this thesis suggested a community with farming and kitchen that make changes to existing apartments in order to form a healthy community where futuristic ecological environment is provided. The architectural basic frame was planned by using the pilotis space on the first floor in consideration of the common space that is constructed when remodeling or re-development of apartments is carried out recently. |
