Cohousing was built and developed due to the difficulty of housework, child care problems, and doubt on the existing uniform mannered housing type in 1970's, and it is a new housing type, which is being revitalized in advanced countries, such as U.S. and Japan. When the fact that the current domestic housing environment is not any different from Northern Europe of 1970's is recognized, domestic application of Cohousing can be considered inevitable. This study is intended to investigate the possibility of minimum size Cohousing as a new domestic residential type. Results of reviewing the possibility of minimum size Cohousing through the review of literatures and cases of domestic and international Cohousing are of the followings. For minimum size Cohousings, the period ranging from the planning to the move-in can be shortened considerably compare to the existing Cohousings, and even in community management, speedy decision and change of plans would be possible. Also, even searching for the location area is relatively easy for the minimum size Cohousings. Lastly, when minimum size Cohousing with various purposes is planned adjacently, it is concluded that the revitalization of local community would be possible through interchange between each groups of Cohousings. |
