Traditional family structure is dismantled due to the changes in population structure, various types of family structure emerged, such as one person households, husband-wife oriented families, lone parent households, and community households, Also, elders no longer wish to live with their children and rely on them financially in their declining years. It is expected that the trend of separation from children would become more remarkable in the future. Such social issues, such as reduction of population, changes in family members, and entering an aged society is making high demands on small houses, which are to emphasize practicality to the people who do not necessarily need big houses. Necessity of residential planning of small houses for one elder person households and husband-wife oriented families is being emphasized. Therefore, this study is intended to analyze the apartment unit plan characteristics, which were built by major construction companies in Seoul, and to classify characteristics of the plane by age and size. To analyze the unit plan changes of medium and small apartments since 1990's, apartments supplied by the companies of top 10 rank of contractor chart of domestic construction companies would be selected from the medium and small apartments in downtown Seoul to analyze their planes. Features of medium and small apartment plans would be organized and they would be classified to look over at the periodical trends. |
