Many areas that were exclusively progressed in 20th century is seeking for a change of opening up due to the impact of information society. On the other hand, apartment life, which respected personal privacy and anonymity, is also making considerable changes from the spread of well-being culture that encourages one to think about what truly good life is about. The changes in community spaces of which the resident share, interchange, and search for a common ground, is in the center of a typical flow of apartments. Some recent examples provide a high level of variety of shared space and they are being used to revitalize the actual community culture of residents. Such development of community space is showing completely different patterns from the development prior to the 2000's, and is being considered as an initiator which forms a new housing culture. Specially, given the possibility of a recent vertical community development unlike the community, which constituted around the horizontal complex planning due to the increase of high-rise apartments, the differentiated planning elements are necessary. This research is intended to search for a strategic accessible direction for the planning of differentiated community shared space from the ones of the past according to the possibility of a future development of vertical community. This research would understand the required preferences of residents on a proper arrangement of horizontal and vertical community shared spaces. The research materials are selected more specifically in the following two types of aspects to accomplish the purpose of this study. First, it would discover the specifications and satisfaction level of shared space usage by learning about the usage of current community shared space of apartment residents. Secondly, it would identify the desired placement types first then comprehensively identify where such spaces are most appropriate to be located by understanding the arrangement format for the location of each space being too vast. The main research method is understanding the placement preference of apartment residents by visiting sites of each placement types and by using the survey method first, then by conducting intensive survey against the residents to realize the existing shared space and clarify its current state. The targets of this research are the apartment residents in metropolitan area, and their placement preference level would be researched against the groups of people of 30's, 40's, and 50's. |
