However, most of the townhouses which located around capital areas are too expensive. Therefore, this paper was about to research the status and issues of internal townhouses, and designed an appropriate urban townhouse for Korea. The main study methods of this paper were literature and case analysis. The process of the study was in the following order. (1) Researched the urban townhouse plan features and selected some worldwide examples in the first stage. (2) Investigated the status and issues of internal townhouse and made analysis and improvement. (3) Analyzed recent domestic and international cases of townhouse and found the essential elements for internal townhouse. (4) Submitted the design of urban townhouse and made advance plan. The result described that the two significant problems of internal townhouses were too large unit and too expensive price??the exact opposite of urban townhouse.
