Sense of place is an essential factor in the developmental process as it is related with the cognition development of children. Through this research it is found out that presence of playground is essential as children's sense of place in school yard is hard to be formed without well-planned outdoor space. It is also found out that those schools without school yard have affected the social aspect of school due to the lack of socializing space. Sense of place in those schools was formed only when the quality of the outdoor space is certain level and the size of the outdoor space was irrelevant to the children's attachment to the school space.
